At the end of our street there is an elementary school (I hear it's fantastic, but their pre-K is only a K readiness program for students from families that are ESL or low-income, so Leighton won't qualify for next year unfortunately.), and right behind it is a public park with fields and a playground. It finally dried up one day last week, so the kids and I spent some time there one afternoon. Riley had a blast with the wood chips (and even added some to her snack container of grapes - yum!), and Leighton was loving being around other kids to play with. It's been a long time since he's been in school and on play dates with his friends back in the Bronx.
When we walked home, Leighton asked if the kids he played with could be his new friends. Hopefully it stops raining soon so we can get back to the playground again for him to play with them. And it really is time to find him a new school and/or activities to meet some other new kids. It's on the to-do list for this week.
yay for new friends!
ReplyDeletelove the pictures - miss riley's hair is full of awesome.
On humid days she gets some super tight curls like Leighton. They are pretty cute! It's crazy how long her hair is when it's wet and brushed straight.
