After a full week of getting settled, we figured the kids deserved a day of fun instead of errands and unpacking, so we went to the Downtown Aquarium for our first time last weekend. It is a really nice facility with the exhibits inside and then some extra activities outside. Leighton went into the 'bubble' under one tank with some rays so he could feel like he was swimming with them and then we all went on a train that takes you inside a wrap-around shark tank! The weather was perfect and we had the place almost to ourselves. I know we will head back to enjoy the outside water features in the warmer weather.
On the way home we stopped for some groceries at one of our favorite new grocery stores, and Leighton chose a donut with sprinkles as a special snack to eat when we got home.
