5 for 5

Last week was the first week in a long time when we had beautiful, park-worthy weather every day.  When I saw the forecast last weekend, I quickly made plans to meet friends at 4 different parks Monday through Thursday.  I didn't make plans for for Friday because Leighton has basketball in the evening and it's always a rush to get the kids fed and ready in time.  But, in the end, we ended up at a playground on Friday, too!

Monday we met Lindsey and the kids at Gail Reeves Park.  We played basketball (and a very nice man pumped up Leighton's very flat ball for him), ran around the tennis court, and explored the actual playground equipment, too!

Tuesday we met Erin and Emilia and Addie at Whit Johnston Park.  The kids had all sorts of fun and we played some more basketball - this park is the best for Leighton being able to play while I can see him from everywhere and he is fenced in the same area as the rest of the playground.

Wednesday we met our Wednesday afternoon park play group at Fire Truck Park.  It was a  bit breezy, but of course the kids don't notice while they are running around having fun.  It's just us moms standing and chatting that get a bit chilly!

Thursday we went to the playground by Leighton's school with many of his classmates and their mommies and siblings.  It was a lot of fun to have such a big group together!  The kids played on the tennis courts with some teenagers for a while.  The girls were so great with all the kids.  And the boy ended up giving Leighton his lei!  We were all joking that we should have asked them for their phone numbers to see if they were interested in babysitting!!!

Friday we ended up at the same playground by the school for a short, impromptu play date with more of the Kindergarten families.

  1. It is so wonderful to be able to have so much play time with friends and also to have such a great variety of places to enjoy.
