9:00 am - basketball game
We showed up to the game today and immediately our parent group started making comments that we thought our team might get creamed by the looks of the other team warming up. But, this was our team's best game yet and they really rose to the level of their opponents. They played so well! Even our more small and timid players got their hands on the ball and made some important plays. And our big scorers really stepped up and made the points happen. I think the other team may have been caught a little off guard! It was pretty high scoring game, and it was super cute to watch our team pay SO much attention to the giant scoreboard since it's usually just the small ones when we play at our regular Y.
10:00 - Y open house
As we were leaving the Y, the kids noticed a clown making balloon animals, so they got in line. They were also giving out all sorts of pink stuff, so of course our two hoarders loaded up! And we ran into Angie and Mykai on their way in for Mylen's game - we haven't seen them in ages since the boys aren't at the same school anymore and our play dates always get canceled due to weather or sickness or something!
10:30 - 1:30 Brunch at Amy & Jesus's
We spent a few hours visiting at Amy & Jesus's new house with their family and Pauline & Mikkel and their kids. All the kids played so well and required almost zero parental supervision and assistance, so we got to relax and drink champagne and OJ!
3:00 - 5:00 Godwin Park
I took the kids down to Godwin Park to meet up with Amy & the boys, Pauline & the boys, Jenny & Palmer, and another friend of theirs who I had met through Leighton's swim team. After a while the dads showed up after their youngest's (and their own, I'm sure!) naps. Roy was busy working on the pool and grabbing groceries and prepping dinner so didn't make it down. As we all basked in the amazingly warm sunshine and the kids all played like angels (seriously!), the idea to all have an impromptu dinner together came to be. Pauline and Mikkel offered up their house, Chiarra and Grey went to pick up fajitas for us all, Pauline & Devin grabbed some wine, and the kids & I dashed home to grab Roy and all the necessities for a giant batch of guacamole.
5:30-8:30 Dinner at Pauline & Mikkel's
The kids started outside and then came in after the sun set and it was too dark to see their games. We got them (and us) fed and they played a little while. Then Mikkel made up a giant batch of popcorn, got a movie playing on their even more giant TV, and passed out ice cream after that. All the while, us parents got to just sit and enjoy the evening with (many) drinks in hand. *note - I have NO Idea what was up with my phone but it would not adjust to take photos in focus … and I promise it was my phone and not ME!!!*

Looks like a party!
