The busiest weekend on record

Remember when I posted about the weekend filled with many birthday parties and our go-go-go type of weekend recently?  Well, I was mistaken when I thought those were busy weekends!  We had a weekend in May that was so crazy that I still can't believe everything we accomplished!

It started with the week leading up to the weekend when I was busy every night working on these peonies, these cookies, and some details for 2 big cakes.  Then once Saturday hit, it was nonstop action!  It went something like this:

Event 1: Nash's birthday party at a nearby playground
Roy took the kids while I stayed home and baked.

Event 2: Leighton's last soccer game of the season
I met Roy and the kids at the game.  I couldn't miss the last one!  He had a super season - scored loads of goals every game and played with lots of fun friends!  And, no, I did not make the cupcakes the kids were eating in these pictures - I was smart enough not to volunteer for this as my snack day!

Event 3: Landon's birthday party
Roy took the kids to Landon's house for a pool party while I went home to do more baking.  Unfortunately, within minutes of being there, Roy jumped in the pool to help a struggling kid in the water and his brand new phone was a casualty (he also ripped his shorts and shirt and damaged his watch a bit).

Event 4: Caroline's birthday party (yes - a 3rd party in one day!  and we declined an invite to a 4th!!!)
We all went to Caroline's pizza party together.  I knew I needed to eat dinner anyway, and I didn't want to miss out on all the fun of the day,  so I arranged my baking/decorating schedule to be there for a few hours.

Event 5: Nubia's graduation brunch
We drove out to Magnolia, which is about an hour outside the city, for Nubia's Rice University MBA graduation brunch.  She is the sister of our friend Nancy and their family's property is amazing, and it was so lovely to spend the day out by the lake.  I also made and delivered the cake (just looking at the owl topper makes me so happy!) :)

Event 6. Play Date at Michelle's
Monday morning, Riley and I were back down to Michelle's for a morning play date.

Event 7: Ms. Smith's Retirement celebration
The amazing librarian at Leighton's previous school retired this year, and I was invited to attend the celebration.  It was an adult only event, and the kids thought that was pretty unfair!  I made two giant cakes for the event, as well.

What a busy few days!!!
