In the morning, Roy and I went into her classroom to bring in some cookies and applesauce for snack. It was so sweet to see her in class.
When I picked her up from school, I took her to pick out some balloons for the table at her party.
We went to the playground for her party, and we lucked out with a beautiful day. It was sunny and warm in the sun, but there was a breeze and the humidity was low, so the shade was lovely and comfortable. A perfect fall day here!
Did you notice anyone special in these photos - someone ALWAYS with Riley (at her table at school, next to her on the carpet, in a bear hug at the playground, having a tickle monster moment with her on the playground, sharing a plate with her at the table)? Look back and see if you can spot the adorable little guy in the blue t shirt with the insanely long eyelashes. That would be her new BFF, Zain. The two of them are INSEPARABLE. She was playing in the sand with all the kids when Zain arrived at the playground, but as soon as I showed her that he had arrived, she was out of the sand, putting her shoes on, and making a mad dash to get him. It's like that at Leighton's soccer games & practices, too (Zayne's brother is on Leighton's team and is in Leighton's class). It is so cute to watch them together.
After the playground, we went for a school fundraising dinner and then headed home. I had also made her a cake, but it was late and they kids had already had cookies and cupcakes during the day, so they were very agreeable to the idea of waiting for the next day for cake.
And really, they were too eager to open her presents! Lots of pink and Doc McStuffins and Elsa/Frozen and princess and Barbie …. she was spoiled and sooooooo excited!
The real fun was in the box of dollhouse furniture from Grandma and Papa - the packing to pop!
or stab!
Okay, pop!
And a little check-up before bath!
