In the morning, we had a quick breakfast and got ready in rain gear with umbrellas to head over to the Eiffel Tower. I was worried about the rain but the storms ended up passing and cleared really quickly. We did have to wait in line for a looooong time to get through the security. So even with our pre-purchased, timed tickets, we didn't get in until about 90 minutes later. Very frustrating. And I never saw the line like that later - so it was just really bad timing for us!
We took the elevator up (but we only got tickets to the mid level).
Then we walked down the stairs down to the first level. Riley and I were much more comfortable with the stairs than the boys!
On the 1st level, there were super clean and empty bathrooms. There were also some things for the kids to climb on. And overpriced gift shops. There was even a glass floor. Roy tried to conquer his fear but only walked around it!
When we got down, we found a little food truck park and grabbed a snack. Leighton wasn't feeling great so we went to the apartment for a couple hours to rest and relax. Afterwards, we wandered on Rue Cler and had a crepe and went into a different grocery store.
Then we started walking up to the Arc de Triomphe.
Along the way, we saw this tiny car that seats two people.
We decided not to climb up to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. It was hot! We just sat outside and enjoyed people watching. The kids enjoyed The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as well.
We wandered down the Champs Elysees. We spent a bunch of time at Toyota. There were cars to look at, coloring tables, and a reaction game that Leighton and I kept playing. There were two teenagers that were playing, too and they could never outscore us! Another empty and clean bathroom here too!
Leighton was very excited to find this store!
We walked back towards our neighborhood.
We stopped for dinner on Rue Cler. Every single bite of food was eaten! The kids devoured their pizzas!
We were all pretty tired, so we went back to the apartment to eat some treats and head to bed.

Looks like a fantastic trip so far! Great combination of sightseeing, ice cream, visiting and playing with friends, ice cream, train travel, ice cream, visiting with family, and ice cream. And Heather would be happy that Leighton is wearing his Seahawks shirts. Thanks for sharing all the pictures and stories.
