Summer Vacation: Day 5 - Amsterdam to Wallingford, England

We got up early to get our bags packed up and to meet our cab to get to the train station.  We were all really excited to have our train ride to England.  First it was time to say goodbye to all the bikes and cheese of Amsterdam!

We had booked a set of 4 seats around a table for our train journeys.

It didn't take long to get to Brussels.  I think it was about 1hr 45mins.  We had a couple hours in the train station so we HAD to have some frites and Belgian chocolate before checking into our Eurostar train to England.  The kids and I also walked outside the train station doors to look around.

Then it was time for the train to England, which was also around 2 hours.

loved that these were cool American, lol
And before long we were at St Pancras in London.  We had a little time to get something to eat, so got some picnic provisions at M&S.

And then it was onto the tube to head out to Amersham to meet Gareth.  He picked us up and drove us the 45 minutes or so to their house in Wallingford.  The last time we had seen Sarah and Gareth was when I was pregnant with Leighton, and now we each have 2 kids!  The kids got along immediately and they had some play time before we headed to a pub for dinner.

  1. Doritos Cool American Flavour (with a u)...love it! I'm so glad the kids had a good time together. Yay for Riley for learning to ride a bike. Has she practiced since you've been home? I saw people drinking Pimm's at Wimbledon. Looks like a ton of fun.
