On Saturday we went for lunch at Grimaldi's (I had a coupon for a free birthday pizza AND a coupon for a free cannoli for Father's Day!) and the rushed back for me to get to my cake decorating class. After the kids were in bed, Lindsey came over so Roy and I could go out for a drink and dessert (the kids had cupcakes I had baked and decorated for my cake class, so they weren't left out, don't worry!) at Tiny's No.5. We shared a pink peppercorn pavlova with vanilla pastry cream, basil ice cream, and balsamic drizzle. It was really different and very yummy! Makes me want to make a pavlova because I've never tried. And olive oil gelato. Where's the connection in that, you ask?!?! Well, we loved LOVED loved the olive oil gelato at Otto in NYC (and the sweet corn and the creme fresh and several other flavors we tried over the years, too!). And the basil ice cream in this dessert made me think of it. Following now?
Sunday we went for lunch at Jerry Built (we had a coupon for buy 2 get 2 burgers free - we like a deal!). The kids love it there, especially the hand washing station. They want to go back over and over again! The chalkboard walls are fun, too!
After lunch we went to get Daddy a new iPad ... the kids had a lot of fun playing on them at the Apple Store - will have to remember that as a air conditioned outing again this summer ;)

You took us to Otto the first time we visited you in Manhattan. The olive oil gelato is definitely yummy. The dessert in this photo looks amazing.
