baby shower cake
I loooooved making these little shoes. And I've been wanting to make a stripes and dots cake forever, so I was glad to get the opportunity. The color scheme matched our living room, so I could have just kept the cake to fit the decor!
football cupcakes
I am really enjoying making little collections of toppers for cupcakes to fit a theme. After the initial request to include her son's team logo, my friend Jenn gave me the go ahead to do whatever I'd like for these cupcakes for the team party. I did try my best to recreate the logo in fondant/gum paste and then I did some different toppers to match the football theme. And thanks to my mom for helping with my research on the appropriate color for field goal posts after seeing several different ones online!
wedding shower cookies
As soon as I was asked to make these, I was itching to get started on them. I love the simplicity of the white on white, and all the different designs on the cakes and dresses were incredibly fun to try out. I wish I would have baked extra cookies so I could have tried out more! I will just have to do them again on a random day so I can :) Pinterest was a wonderful source of inspiration, as always! Unfortunately, yesterday was a grey and rainy day, and there was not very nice natural light coming in the house for pictures.
Next up will be some (American) Thanksgiving cookies, a cake for Thanksgiving dinner at friends', and then a Cinderella birthday cake in December. I haven't decided on my Christmas baking yet, but I've pinned an overabundance of ideas!
I didn't even read the text before getting Dad upstairs to look at the photos. We are totally amazed and awed by these. You are supremely talented at this stuff. While the dots and stripes cake is totally beyond fantastic, I love the football themed cupcakes (especially the little referee shirt).
ReplyDeleteYou might want to think about getting (or making) a softbox to use with your studio light from your friend in NYC. Then you aren't dependent on natural light for all of the photos. I am definitely not very knowledgeable about studio lighting, but it might be something to investigate.
Good thinking about the softbox. Will have to see what that would entail!
