Leighton's new leading lady

My little guy has always had a thing for the ladies :)  Seems like his closest friend is most often a girl, and at his wise old age of six, talk of love and marriage has repeatedly been mentioned!!

When I was in Leighton's art class volunteering a couple of weeks ago, I was informed by several of his classmates that Clementine is his new girlfriend, and then Clementine confirmed it and told me she loved him.  She is a really sweet girl, so we will see if this one goes the distance ;)

Here is a look back at all those who came before her ….

Claire
Heather and I were pregnant together and Claire is about 6 weeks older than Leighton.  Looks like Leighton liked kissing her from pretty early on :)

Rachael Ray
Although he never met her in person, if her voice came on the TV, he would stop and pay attention and get very excited.  It started long before he was even one and I'd watch the Food Network while nursing him after his late afternoon nap.  It continued as he got older, but I haven't watched her show in a few years, so I am not sure if her voice would still stop him in his tracks.  I should test it out one day!

Victoria
We didn't live far from Penny and Daniel and the kids, but we never did get to see them often enough.  On one occasion, Leighton figured he better get some kisses in in case it was another 6 months until we saw them again!

Kelsey
After we moved out to the Bronx, we met Kelsey and her mom Sierra (and then later came her baby brother Jake) at a playground one day in the spring.  Leighton and Kelsey quickly became very fond of each other, and we were very sad when they moved back home to Utah.

Cadence
Even though Leighton and Cadence only saw each other a few times when we visited them in Boston annually on the 4th of July, every now and then there were little moments of affection :)

Caoimhe
We met Erin, Caoimhe, and Eoghan at our play group in the Bronx.  Leighton and Caoimhe were very quickly super close friends.  Leighton really loved her and she made it easier for him when they started preschool together.  We miss them terribly and keep waiting for them to decide to move to Houston :)

Mihal
When we first moved to Houston, Leighton was excited to get to know the pretty girl across the street.  Remember when I blogged about their wedding?!?!

Laila
We met Laila the weekend before school started last year at a play date for all the kids in preK and K.  It was love at first sight for her and Leighton, and the often spoke of getting married :)  The two remained extremely close friends all year, and it was sad for us all when Kyla and Andy and the kids moved to California this summer.  We are hoping for a visit with them when they are here over Christmas.

Clementine
We are just getting to know Clementine and her family, but as I have already mentioned, she is apparently Leighton's girlfriend :)  Her mom said that their teacher thought they knew each other before school started because of how close they seem to be.  Watch this space …. I predict MANY more photos of Clementine in our future!
