DC day 1

In November, Roy had a conference to attend in DC, so we joined him!  The kids both had a few things they wanted to be sure to see, and I had a list of things I wanted to see, too!

We arrived mid day and after getting a cab to our hotel, we set off for lunch at GCDC (Grilled Cheese DC) - there was a French onion soup grilled cheese I had been dying to try, but it was the weekend menu so they didn't have it.  But the ones we picked were still really good and it was nice to eat something warm on such a cold day!

Next we were off to see two 'big' items on the must see list - The Washington Monument (Riley) and the Lincoln Memorial (Leighton).  Along the way we also saw the World War II Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, the Reflecting Pool, and the Albert Einstein Memorial.

Total Walking: 3.9 miles plus a short walk to dinner and back
