Goldilocks

Too cold.

Too hot.

Too bright.

Too dark.

Too hungry.

Too tired.

Nope, we don't live with Goldilocks.  Just Riley!  Lately everything is too _______.

Unfortuntely, last Saturday when she kept telling me she was too cold on the way to the zoo, I didn't believe she was actually really cold and realize she was starting to get sick.  Once we got there though, I quickly figured out that something wasn't normal with her.  Many people at the zoo were in shorts.  This was Riley for most of the morning while we were there (and this is VERY different from the usual running around non stop girl we are used to, so I knew something was up beyond just being cold):

And yes, she is wrapped in our picnic blanket!  I didn't bring a real blanket since I didn't expect to use the stroller for anything other than to haul around my bag and all the snacks I brought!  thankfully, I did bring a couple hoodies and put those on her and covered her with one of Leighton's too before wrapping the picnic blanket around her.

She did get out and play around a little every now and then though.

And her brother had a really fun time with his friend, Laila.

Riley did turn out to be sick and had a high fever a couple hours after we got home.  And then Leighton caught it a few days later and missed the last three days of school last week.  Riley and I laughed when we went to wake him up from one of his naps and we found him sleeping "upseedown" on his bed.

Leighton spent most of the time he was home on the couch, but at one point when he was feeling up to wandering about, I found him reading to his sister and it was too cute not to get a photo of!

Both kids are better now, and Leighton will head back to school tomorrow finally!
