Spring Break post #2: It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Kirsten!

Tuesday we started the day at the Children's Museum of Houston.  We arrived right at opening because I knew it would be busy, but I wasn't expecting a line snaking along the entire side of the building to enter.  Luckily we are members and bypassed that line and were part of the first group to head outside for the special activities they had set up.

Kirsten was excited to try out the bungee jumping and the hamster ball, and at first Leighton thought he'd get in the hamster ball but changed his mind in the end.  The kids loved watching Kirsten going high, high up on the bungee cords!

Riley and Leighton had a blast playing in the water and sand while Kirsten had her fun. We hadn't been outside since last summer, so it was exciting to have a hot day to get wet.

Then we all sat down to snack on some popcorn before playing inside and heading home.

After snack (it was am adjustment getting used to preparing and packing snacks/lunch items for THREE kids instead of just two!), our chosen afternoon activity was to take the kids and their bikes across the road to the bayou.  Riley is really getting great balance and she can glide for a while.  Leighton has a love hate relationship with his bike.  He is always hesitant to get out and ride it, but then when he does, he loves zooming along.  I think that seeing his sister speed ahead is making him more eager to ride these days, too!

*once again, most of these pictures are my Mom's.  A handful are mine though!

    1. I rarely see 'me' in Riley, so it's fun to hear you say that!
