Here is another couple months worth of funnies from the mouths of our two!
Jan, 2 2013:
Riley and Leighton both LOVE listening to Gangnam Style (that reminds me - I need to upload and share some videos of them dancing to it!). Riley was in bed falling asleep, and over the monitor we hear, "One Gangnam style, Two Gangnam style ..." Guess that is the new way to count sheep!
Jan 4, 2013:
Leighton: That was a fart.
Riley: mmm hmm
Leighton: Do you know what a fart is?
Riley: Uh uh
Leighton: It's gas that comes out of your bum.
Feb 10, 2013:
Leighton was asking or telling me to do something and when I did it, he said, "Thanks .... my darling!"
A few days before valentine's day:
Leighton was so excited about valentine's day and talked about it nonstop. When we asked why, he said "I just really like love!"
Feb 13, 2013:
Riley had a terrible sleep and an 'off' morning, so to make her happy after her (much needed) nap, we sat on the front porch watching the cars drive by. She was sleepy and silent for a good 10 minutes (so, odd - this girl is never silent!) and then all of a sudden she squeals, "Whoa! Nice car!" as a red sports car drives by. Good taste, little one!
Feb 24, 2013:
Riley was looking in a book and there was some broccoli soup. Leighton mentioned that we should have it for dinner, and Riley told us that we haven't had it in the new house and the last time we ate it was in the old house. We were blown away that she remembered that and was able to articulate it so well.
Feb 28, 2013:
Riley asking Roy where something is and he says, I don't know. She says, "I don't know EITHER." How does she know how to use that word, lol?!?!
March 2, 12013:
Riley is FINALLY getting interested in books. Leighton LOVED books from such an early age, and we would ready so many books every day. He was even almost reading by the age Riley is now! But, up until recently, Riley has really only ever let us read to her a handful of times. She's just grab the book and throw it or close it or sit on it. It is so wonderful to now have her bring us a book and have her pay attention and ask questions and enjoy it (over and over and over - I forgot that part of reading books with the little ones!). It's very interesting to see her response to some situations or stories or pictures in books. Today she was very concerned and upset that Lighting Mcqueen was broken. I tried to reassure her many times that he got fixed. She would flip forward a few pages and see him happy and fixed, but would return to the one page and want to talk about him being broken. She was really bothered by it. Leighton then asked if he was ever bothered by things when he was little. Ha! Was he ever! I couldn't sing Baby Beluga because he would get stressed out that the Mommy wasn't home. I couldn't sing Hugh Little Baby because it would make him teary and sad for some reason. We had to stop reading the Frosty the Snowman book/song because he would get so sad that Frosty would melt and be gone (even though he totally understood the reality of melting snowmen we'd made and not cared). He was also scared of pictures of clowns in books. And of this picture of a yellow sunshine with blue eyes on his Leap Frog phone. Yup, terrified. Had to put that toy away MANY times, and then he'd ask for it a few months later and once again he'd get freaked out and back into the closet it would go!
March 2, 2013:
We were talking about the taste testers the kids had at the grocery store today and Leighton was saying how much he liked the chocolate milk. Riley said, "Baby no like mouchy. Me likes this one mouchy!" and she pointed to my shirt. Then she turns to Roy and says, "Daddy like this one mouchy?" Roy and I stifled our laughs as well as we could.
March 2, 2013:
When I was getting the kids ready for the bath tonight, Leighton was going to the bathroom and then got all excited and skipped over to me and says, "I love this part under my penis. It's so soft. Touch it, Mommy. Feel it. Feel it. FEEL it. Mommy, feel it. It's so soft." I laughed and laughed. Then I informed him that it is called a scrotum.
March 2011
This is an oldie, but a goodie! I was reminded of it tonight during the one above!
Leighton and Roy were in the bathroom, and Leighton asked Roy was under his
penis. They were discussing scrotum and testicles, and then he came out of the bathroom and
said, "Mommy did you know that under my penis are my flexibles?"
This all made me laugh and laugh. I am so glad you are keeping track of all these cute things they say and do.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to record as often as I remember. There are definitely some great ones that I've forgotten though.
