We woke up early to drive to the GO Train station for an early train to downtown Toronto. We wanted to get there early enough do a little sight seeing and to go to a sports bar to watch one of the World Cup games before going to the Jays game.
We had looked through pictures from our last visits together in November 2010 and the summers of 2010 and 2009 and laughed about recreating some of the pictures (like the boys kissing each other and Dean holding a tiny baby Riley with funny faces, etc ...) but when we saw this sculpture it was the perfect chance to recreate one where we had the three boys sitting on a tiger at the zoo! This time Riley got to be added, too!
I had really wanted pictures with the Toronto letters like we had done in Amsterdam and planned to do in Cleveland ...
CN Tower ...
Where the Raptors play ....
A maple Leaf!
A new hat for Leighton ...
A caesar for mommy!!!!
Jays stadium ...
And we were in our seats! The roof was closed - which was fortunate due to the intense heat, but unfortunate since it's such a pretty stadium with the roof open.
The kids ate leftover pizza ...
And treats!
Rally cap time ...
But sadly, the Jays lost the game.
We got back on the GO Train and then got the car to go back to Burlington for dinner with Kevin and Veronica and the kids. Veronica had cooked and Roy was very excited for her cooking!!
Before bed, Riley got to feed Jenn and Dean and Jack and Sam's bunny, Zsa Zsa, her kale before her bedtime!
Metrolinx, the company that runs the GO Train (and the subways and buses in Toronto) has been my client for about 6 years. The employees were probably trained on courses I helped initiate. But I'm much more jealous of being at the Jays game. And Dad will be delighted to know the kale is fed to the rabbit so he doesn't have to eat it.
