The first few weeks of summer

We started the summer with a going away party for the Burke family, Riley getting some teeth pulled, lots of days at the pool, a movie with the Meyers, Morgan's birthday party, lots of summer reading programs at the libraries, haircuts, swimming at the the Gentry's, dinner at the Gentry's, helping Mrs Warner in the school library, watching lots of World Cup soccer and baseball, and the kids did a week of afternoon summer camp at the school.

And in the middle of all that, we went away for a night to celebrate my birthday.  We went to the outlet shopping in the morning and then to lunch at the Mexican restaurant near there that I'd always wanted to try.  We then drove toward College Station and had a wine tasting along the way.  We stayed at an Embassy Suites, so that meant complimentary evening drinks and snacks.  In the morning, we explored the campus of Texas A&M, downtown Bryan, and another winery & brewery before having some lunch and starting the drive home.  It was another really nice little vacation to a place we'd never been before that's so close by!
