Riley was LOVING the dog to hang out with!
In the morning, the kids played video games and in the yard, and then we organized ourselves to go to a lake for a while. We played in the water (only the kids got in for a full swim) and played soccer on the grass. We rented canoes for a little while. Riley was NOT a fan, but even tortured herself for a 2nd trip out. She isn't a huge fan of water you can't see through, I don't think. It was the same when we were first out in the kayak in Destin last year and weren't in the clear, blue ocean area. Anyway, we had fun and I was excited to canoe for the first time in probably 25 years! I used to love it. We saw an otter on a log, which was pretty fun, too.
We spent some time relaxing at Pam and Brent's. The kids played a lot - and Colby kept working with Riley on her cartwheels.
After dinner, we walked down for ice cream. Some Canada Geese were also coming for ice cream!
Pam and I might have stayed up until 2 in the morning chatting after the kids and dads went to bed!
Reconnecting with old friends is such a wonderful thing to do. So glad you were able to see Pam and Brent and their kids.
