Friday, we packed up for our New Orleans and Destin trip. It was strange to pack from our partially unpacked home and also to go up and down stairs a million times while doing so. We're used to 1200 square feet all on one floor and now we have three stories! Packing definitely takes longer when you have to go up and down looking for things (and mostly forgetting things)!
Leighton somehow managed to talk us into ice cream before we hit the road!
We stayed in New Iberia for the night and ate at the pizza/seafood buffet restaurant we like and have started to make part of our trips!
Saturday, we drove into New Orleans. It was Red Dress race day again, so there were thousands of men and women all dressed in red dresses just like when we were there last summer.
We went for lunch at the place we like and got the server we like (and he even remembered us from last year!). We also enjoyed some praline tasting and beignets and shopping for Riley before going to check into our hotel.
Riley and Roy swam, but the pool was really busy so Leighton and I just stayed on the side.
In the evening we went down for the PB&J at 10. We love this tradition at La Pavillon!
Saturday morning it was tough to wake sleeping beauty, but eventually we were on the way out of New Orleans. We stopped for Leighton to have Waffle House for breakfast and at the outlets along the way for the boys to get hats and Leighton to try on shoes.
Then we made it to Margaritaville in Biloxi, Mississippi.
The weather was cool and thunder storming, so not even close to ideal for a lazy river and swim up bar and waterslides! Luckily our room was ready so hung out for a bit and then went to the arcade.
It had stopped storming but still was cooler with grey skies. But we decided it was now or never for the pool, so off we went. I was freezing! But we managed to stay and play a while.
We had dinner in our room and watched the pretty sunset (which we didn't get on the super sunny day last time we had the balcony room there, so I guess the cloudy skies worked in our favor this year!) and then the kids went back in the water at night.
