Happy Canada Day!
We were hoping to do some tide pooling in the morning at Roads End State Recreation Site, but there weren't any there that we could see. We played on the beach for a while and collected some rocks instead.
We stopped at the Tillamook Creamery. It was CRAZY busy! We went upstairs to see the self guided tour area and were able to squeeze between other tourists to see the cheesemaking process. The cheese tasting station was WAY too busy though. We were all far too lazy to stand in that long line for free samples. The line for the restaurant was also SUPER long. So we changed our plan and decided to just have ice cream before lunch and find lunch food elsewhere. We enjoyed our ice cream and then checked out the gift shop and went to the bathroom. We noticed the food line had shortened by a lot, and Leighton REALLY wanted the grilled cheese there, so we decided to stay for lunch. It didn't take long at all. The cheese curds were out of this world amazing.
From Tillamook, we made the drive to Cannon Beach, where we would be for two nights instead of just the usual one on this trip! We stayed at a very cute lodge, and we could walk along the creek to the beach. The kids and I set out to explore a little because they were desperate to get out and throw the ball around. We also needed to walk to the grocery store for some things to eat a simple dinner in the hotel room again. Apparently my children have decided they wanted some of their photos to be as thought they were posing in GAP ads. Not sure where that idea came from, but it was pretty funny!
