We got up early (well, early for US!) so that we could catch the people who were there to tell about the Puffins nesting at Haystack Rock. We didn't know how busy it would get and also wanted to be in time for low tide for tide pooling. It was drizzling and cool, so we layered up and started our walk there through the town. The kids were excited to show Roy where we had walked the evening before. Watching the puffins through the binoculars and telescopes was so cool! We saw some baby seagulls in a nest, too! We were soon able to spot the Puffins with just our eyes and had fun seeing them fly overhead. We were also very lucky we got to the tide pools when we did because 15 minutes later everything we were able to see had been covered with the tide coming in.

The sun came out and it got pretty warm. And now we had a bag of umbrellas and all our layers to carry!

We walked back up the beach and into town for lunch at Public Coast. They were showing the Women's World Cup game and the crowd that came in for lunch were all very into the game. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, Roy's tummy wasn't happy with what he ate, so we left at halftime and finished watching at 'home'. We relaxed all afternoon, and even I napped!
Then in the early evening, we walked back into town for groceries. And taffy. The kids (well, mostly Leighton) were obsessed with the salt water taffy, so we stopped at a little candy store where they could see it being made fresh and could buy some.
