The funny things they say: June edition

June 2
Tonight at dinner, Riley was demanding some ice cream for dessert and when I reminded her she had already had a treat today, she said, "I'm a big kid and I need two treats."

June 3
We were at the Galleria (a mall here) and Riley pointed up ahead and excitedly asked, "Are we going to go up one of those highers?"  She meant the escalator.

June 7
We were having beans that we grew at dinner, and Leighton said something about now I might need to start a gardening business like my baking one.  He then came up with a name for it - Rebecca Rakes and Cakes.  Such a smart kid!

June 15
Leighton pointed to the crook of his elbow today and said, "So is this called your armpit jr?"

June 15
Leighton made up two jokes today:
Q: What do you call a car that looks like a pet riding on a carpet?
A: A car pet

Q: What do you call a hole that a car drove into?
A: A carpet (car pit)

June 16
Leighton made up a joke today:
Q: What's a dog's worst food?
A: Mac and fleas

June 16
Leighton: I'm going for Germany.
Riley: Yeah, I'm going for Jerry, too.

June 18
Tonight Leighton asked me, "What's baloogna?"  It took me a minute to realize he meant bologna.  He had read about it in a book.

June 19
We were talking about athletes, and Riley asked us about 'Brain Harden' instead of 'James Harden'.

June 19
Something happened during the soccer game we were watching, and Riley said, "Aw, poor Rooney." in such a sad way.  Very cute.

June 25
Leighton had a bit of a twitch in one eye this morning.  It was annoying him a little, so I was trying to explain about it, but his theory was that he grew a muscle overnight in his eye and he could now feel his heartbeat in it.

June 26
We were driving in the car and saw someone doing something stupid on the road, and Leighton said, "That's under the law!"

June 26
We were sitting on Pauline's couch, and Riley was tired and kind of zoned out and said to me, "Are we home yet?"  I laughed and reminded her we weren't even in the car.
