Vacation time! Day 3!

Day three was a little less action packed than our first two days, but just as fun and filled with new and exciting adventures for the kids.

The day started with pancakes for breakfast, much to Leighton's delight!

And Riley helped make them.

Then it was time to head into the woods.  We walked through the forest behind my parents house to join up with our friend Jerrel's property.  We had to get the house ready Aunt Susan, Uncle Alan, and Uncle Nick to stay in.

The kids were excited by the pond.

And to be in the mountains!

And then they figured they needed to climb a mountain!

Trying to get up to this 'house' Leighton saw.

And higher up was a 'seesaw' the kids though they'd try out.

Then it was time to try sour cherries.

Back through the woods to Grandma's house!  And Leighton was thrilled with the rocks he found.

Look Mommy - some fungus on a log.

After lunch it was time to heat the beach.  Riley had been asking to go since we arrived the day before, and the kids were excited to wear their new water shoes (we had explained to them that the beaches weren't all soft and sandy like the ones they've been at before!) and nets to catch minnows.

That wraps up day 3!
