I had REALLY wanted to hike to Idaho Peak on our trip, but after thinking more carefully, we realized it wasn't the best option for everyone in our group, the kids included. Kirsten suggested the Galena Trail instead because she really likes going over the creek in the cable car. And it is relatively flat. And mostly shaded. Perfect! So we all went … except Kirsten! She decided she needed a teenager sleep in!
Seeing the old mine site was fun.
The kids (and Roy!) liked finding galena.
We borrowed a good hiking/biking stroller from some friends of my Mom in case Riley got tired - and to help lug all our stuff! Both kids decided it was a pretty fun ride!
So was the cable car!
And we walked out *just* as the sky got black and the thunder started rolling in!
Can't wait for the next visit for more adventures like this.
